Aug 21, 2015  Using Windows 7, I can't get IE11 to download anything except in safe-mode with networking, where everything works fine. Have run multiple virus scans, malware scans, esset scan, and ADW scan, but problem persists. Mar 05, 2016  If I’m not wrong at Windows 7 click at Microsoft logo. I can't download anything off the internet. I am running windows 7, and internet explorer 11. When I click on download, and it shows to run or save. I have tried to use both of them. But all it does, when I click on the box. Is show a smaller box inside the one I click on.

I've had my dell now for about 4 years. It is currently running windows XP and I run avg scans regularly. Just recently I woke up one day and got on my computer and my avg was out of date so I clicked on update and it failed to do so. This was a shock to me so I decided to try and download other things off the internet to see if it was just my avg or not. Unfortunately nothing would download at all, even off the internet. So now my computer cannot download anything at all and I have no clue what to do. Any suggestions?

Hi, I bought an Envy m6 with Windows 8 on black Friday and it's worked flawlessly up to this point. Now, whenever I try to install something (always a program with an installer) and try to open the installer, the Norton window that says 'Do you want to authorize this program to make changes to this computer?' and I click 'Yes' the windows goes away as it normally would, but then nothing happens. I'd appreciate any help.

That is the UAC (user account control) prompt. It is trying to protect you from yourself. ;)

You can modify the setting if you like. The the search all programs and files box type in UAC and then select change user account control settings.

Does the user account you are using to install programs with have administrative priveleges or is it a standard account?
